Mumbai news: Loan Dispute Leads to Murder of 48-Year-Old Malad Man; Kasturba Police Arrest Two Suspects

The Kasturba Police have arrested two men accused of killing 48-year-old Prashant Pawar over an alleged loan dispute in Malad West. The suspects, identified as Falda alias Soni Rajesh Kumar Patil, 22, and Ritesh Omprakash Chauhan, 25, reportedly confronted Pawar under the Sudhir Phadke Bridge on Wednesday evening over money they had lent him, which he allegedly failed to repay.

The altercation quickly escalated into a violent clash, resulting in the suspects allegedly using a blade to fatally wound Pawar. Both suspects were taken into custody by police on Thursday, following the incident.

Pawar, a rickshaw washer by profession, was known to the accused, who also worked in vehicle-related odd jobs.

The Kasturba Police have registered a case against the suspects, who now face murder charges. The police have clarified that contrary to some reports, no claims of sexual demands were involved in the case.
