Malad news: Malad West Records City’s Poorest Air Quality Level (Mumbai)
Air quality in various areas of Mumbai deteriorated recently, with Malad West emerging as the most affected locality.
The Central Pollution Control Board’s (CPCB) monitoring station in Malad West recorded an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 202, categorizing it under the ‘poor’ classification.
An AQI level between 201 and 300, labeled as ‘poor’ by CPCB standards, may lead to respiratory difficulties for individuals exposed over extended periods.
Meanwhile, several other monitoring stations across the city reported ‘moderate’ AQI levels on Sunday.
For context, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered ‘good’, 51 to 100 is ‘satisfactory’, 101 to 200 is ‘moderate’, 201 to 300 ‘poor’, 301 to 400 ‘very poor’, and 401 to 500 ‘severe’.
